Location and Geography
As you can see in the maps below, the beautiful country of Sweden is located in Northern Europe in Scandinavia. With 3,218 kilometers of coastline, Sweden borders four different bodies of water: the Baltic Sea, Gulf of Bothnia, Kattegat Bay, and Skagerrak Strait.

Although most of the borders are coastline, Sweden is sandwiched between Norway and Finland which gives a land boundary total of about 2,211 kilometers. As you can see from the map below, the elevation of this country varies from north to south and east to west.

The People in Sweden
There are 10 million people in Sweden, of whom about 2 million are under the age of 18. Eighty-five percent of them live in cities. Sweden is a very multicultural country. About 15 percent of Swedes were born in another country, while about one in five children in Sweden has a family with roots in another country.
